How To Opt-In for Twitter Archiving As An End User

This is an article that an admin will be able to send to an end user after provisioning their Twitter account in the platform.

Prerequisites

Your Twitter account will Your Twitter account needs to be provisioned by your Platform Admin before you can start the process of opting-in.

Step 1 

  • NOTE:  *If you have not met all the prerequisites above, contact your Company Administrator.
  • *Be sure you follow ALL Prerequisite steps prior to opting in. 

Locate the Email from Smarsh asking you to opt-in for social media archiving, (Example Below), and click on the word Twitter to be redirected to Twitter(X) for opting-in.

This email sometimes gets sent to Spam or Junk folders, and the Subject line will read "Activation Required: Smarsh Social Media Archiving."

    • These automated emails for Social Media Activation come from the address "no_reply@smarsh.com"   Please ensure this email address is not set to go to your spam or junk folder and is not being blocked by any mailbox or server level filters. 
    • * If you have not received an authorized email, please reach out to your Company Administrator. 


Please click on the word "Twitter" to be redirected for the opt-in process.

Step 2

 
A web browser window opens prompting you to login with your Twitter credentials. Click Authorize app once you enter your credentials.

NOTE: If you already signed into your account, click Authorize app.

Step 3


In the Select Twitter Pages to be Archive page, select Archive as User from the drop-down and click APPROVE.

Step 4

 
Please insure that you see the following confirmation to inform you that set up is complete.

Step 5


Authorizing completed. Please work with your Company Admins to confirm your Twitter(X) page is now archiving. 
  • If you receive an error during this process, please reach out to your Company Administrator.
