« Go Back
Information

This article will provide the steps necessary to activate or deactivate two factor (2FA) authentication on or off in the platform.

Multifactor (MFA) Authentication adds an additional layer of login security to The Professional Archive. If enabled, Users must enter a security code before the system grants them access. Security codes are sent via email.

Professional Archive > Administration

Note: Enabling or Disabling Multifactor Authentication ( 2FA ) can only be done by a Professional Archive administrator.

Accessing Security Settings

  1. Log in to app.smarsh.com.
  2. Click the Menu / Hamburger icon in the top left
  3. Navigate to Company Settings.
  4. Select Security
  5. Check the Require Authentication Code when logging in checkbox to enable authentication or uncheck to disable the feature.
  6. You can also Reset Authentications. Selecting this will require all users to reauthorize their two-factor codes upon their next login into the platform.
  7. Click the Save Settings button to save your changes.

If you are having a problem receiving your authentication code please see the article below for next steps:

Why can't I get an Authorization Code email?

You need to have access to the Professional Archive in order to be able to activate Multifactor Authentication,

Central Alternate Users do not have access to the Professional Archive hence, they can't enable 2FA.
